We set up the PA system in the afternoon running 2700 watts of continuous power. This made for a massive 1350 into each of the double 15 “ full range cabs recently refurbed with brand new 15-B600 Fane Colossus drivers and Neodymium CD150’s.

The band consisted of Guitar, Bass, Sax, Vocals & Keyboards. The sound was great and the venue rocked! For monitoring we used two double 15″ monitors. 

We hope to see this band again - it’s always a pleasure to witness such superb musicianship.

For the sound system we used two double 15″ full range cabs with a CS4000 amp for front of house plus two big stage wedges for monitoring and a full range cab as a drum fill.

We also provided all mics, D.I.s etc. & used the Allen & Heath GL2000 desk with ART eq & DBX processing.

The event was a success, all the bands had a great time and seemed very happy with their on stage sound. The front of house sound system was on top form with rich mids, crystal clear highs and thunderous bottom end.

Igoe PA hire provides sound / PA equipment & engineering for heat 3 of the Carling “battle of the bands” competition at O’Neils on Baldwin street in Bristol.

The Carling BOTB competition is now in full swing. Each week several local bands compete by performing a 30 mins set of there own material and one cover. After the heats the winners compete in a final and then move on to the next round. This event takes place all over the UK with the overall winners getting the chance to record their album in a professional studio. The Bristol judges are local people with experience in the music industry.

Again we used two full range cabs for the front of house sound system running 1600 watts rms altogether. For monitoring we used two 500 watt wedges with amps to match.

The bands were all good - the judges definitley made the right decision and manic Cardiff band “Sixty” won the heat. We are looking forward to seeing them again in the final.
