PA System Hire & Disco Lighting Hire: Ashton Court Mansion

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Igoe PA Hire Bristol provides a disco sound system with a full disco lighting rig for the wedding of Neil Martin & Jill Bragg at the Ashton court mansion, Bristol

Diary 21/04/07

We rigged up the PA system during the speeches on the stage in the Music room. Using 2 of the double 15” cabs which comprise of Fane colossus and CD150 drivers we supplied 2.7 K of continuous power with a CS 4000 Amp. These bad boys chuck out 1350 watts per side at 4 ohms!

The client wanted to simply plug in an ipod so we provided a small mixing desk and the relevant leads / adaptors.

For disco lights we set up a 3 meter truss and hung 2 VRX Gladiators, 2 NJD DMX 250 and a NJD Datamoon in the middle. It was a beautiful wedding one of the best I have seen up there and they certainly had a knock out disco to party at until the early hours.

Sound Reinforcement, The Anomalies

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Igoe PA Hire Bristol provides sound reinforcement & sound engineering for a private party featuring “The Anomalies” at Mackies bar, Stokes Croft Bristol. For a group who are doing so well it was a real treat to have them gig at this small venue on Stokes Croft.

MC Goldseal, Lo and DJ Mayhem gave a great performance Mcing over a blend of Hip Hop, Funk & Drum & Bass with a welcome sprinkling of soulful female vocals. Support was from Mouthmaster Murf who worked the lively crowd into a frenzy with his unbelievable beat box skills.

We set up the PA system in the afternoon running 2150 watts of continuous power. For a small venue this made for a massive thumping sound. 800 Watts of raw sub power and 1350 into the full range cabs recently refurbed with brand new 15-B600 Fane Colossus drivers and Neodymium CD150’s.

The band consisted of a DJ with 2 “rappers” and a female vocalist. We had to be on our toes as they kept swapping mics around but the sound was great and the venue rocked! For monitoring we used the Galaxy Hot Spots, unobtrusive as ever, perfect in a small space. We hope to meet these dudes again they are born entertainers.

PA System, St Georges Day, Bath

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Igoe PA Hire Bristol provides sound & lighting for the Avon Scouts, Centenary Year, St. George’s Day celebration, Royal Victoria Park, Bath (Sunday April 22nd). 5000 people enjoyed a fun packed day complete with marching bands, ceremonies, guest speakers and variety performances from the Scout county’s gang show teams.

Outdoor Stage

This event was sound engineered by Ben & Dan.

“The day was exceptionally well organised, it was a real pleasure working along side the Scout leaders”.

Diary 22/04/07

We set up the PA system early on Sunday morning running 9 kilowatts of RMS continuous power. We wanted to ensure we had enough “grunt” to cater for the many thousands of people due in attendance. In addition we rigged up several long and short nose par cans as a general lighting wash for performers.

Much of the day’s proceedings involved choirs of children involved in singing, dancing and acting. We achieved microphone coverage of the entire stage with 8 studio condenser (riffle) mics and used Shure Beta 58A’s to pick out soloists / speakers.

For monitoring we used Galaxy Hot Spots. Hot Spots are astonishingly loud (200 watts RMS) and tiny (shoe box size) making them easy to move about the stage, ideally suited to the variety show format we were faced with. The sound system performed extremely well throughout the day with crystal clear highs and punchy, thunderous bass.

5000 People

One local resident asked whether the amplification for the event had to be quite so loud! Apparently the sound system was audible at least half a mile away. I think we certainly woke up Royal Victoria Crescent during the afternoon.

When it comes to outdoor sound reinforcement – better to have too much than too little!
